    I saw this lamination and immediately thought it's done the wrong way. I think it's best to laminate with the center-of-the-tree looking outside, because that's where the wood moves the most, and would better be stabilized by the glue line.

    OK, that's being really pedantic, especially since it probably won't matter for this bench, but anyways, I think the info could have some educational value to your readers...

    I saw this myself in a plain-wood-walled house a friend of mine built, where all beams were two-pieces of laminated wood. And it struck me that they were all made with same orientation, so that made me ask myself why did they do it that way...
